Helen Snyder is a sweet and charming lady with a grateful appreciation for her blessings in life. She was born in Iowa along with two sisters and a brother Alice, Margaret, and Robert. Her sisters both served in World War II, one in the Marines and the other in the Navy. Her brother fought a more personal battle against polio. Helen was married to a man from Nepal for 64 years. Together they had four children; two sons and two daughters named Jeffrey, Don, Joy, and Nancy.
Helen was a stay-at-home mother and housewife for most of her life. Her husband worked at General Motors to support their family and later her daughter Joy also took a position with the company. Helen enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and watching family oriented television programs. She’s also a life-long animal lover. Her favorite things to do within the community include Bingo, special events, and getting her nails done. She’s said looking back, “she often realizes how fortunate she is and how good her life has been.”
Helen came to Rawlins House & Fall Creek this past July following a hip surgery. She chose this community because her sister Alice was already a resident and she thought it would be nice for them to remain close. In her short time as a resident Helen has taken notice of the amazing therapy programs offered and the helpful and friendly staff who always make sure she’s having a good day. Rawlins House and Fall Creek Retirement Village is a senior retirement community offering assisted and independent living. They’re located in Pendleton, Indiana and part of the CarDon family of care.
